Free2b Facilitators

Free2b Girls groups are run by amazing women who volunteer each week to keep the doors open so girls in their community can keep coming along.

Sonia, Tani, Minty and Lara - St Helens

The original St Helens Free2b group has been running since 2017. Supported by the St Helens Neighbourhood House, it's a space where girls can come along and express their naturally creative selves through cooking, dance, music, art, craft...and whatever other inspirations they come up with!

Tani. Sonia, Minty and Lara are the women who open the doors each week, provide food and ensure all is well.

Tani has been there since the beginning and has loved growing with the girls. Sonia joined in a year ago, keeps calm and cleans up as she goes. Minty has recently joined us and will inspire heaps of creative and artistic projects. And Lara, our newest facilitator does Earth Walks and will likely have a few girls exploring the wilds with her soon!

Supported by the Northern Midlands Council, Longford Free2b Group began in May 2019.

The group is facilitated by Megan and Emily.

Emily and Megan have been close friends for 13 years. They both grew up in the Northern Midlands community and are passionate about empowering and supporting the next generation of women within their community.

The Longford Free2b Girls group is a place in which everyone can learn, feel valued and listened to. They harness their collective passions, strengths and ideas as they explore personal growth, friendship and community.

"I feel like I can really talk to Megan and Emily".

"I love that you are funny and support us"

"Thank you for everything, even the food. You make me smile everyday and laugh".

                                    Sharni and Hannah - Beaconsfield

Sharni and Hannah have been running the Beaconsfield Free2b Group since July, 2019. Supported by the Beaconsfield Neighbourhood House, the girls in this group have wild and wonderful times decorating their room, eating 2 minute noodles and coming up with the most amazing creative ideas for the future -  including a 24 Free2b sit in (ie. staying in their group for 24 hrs)!

Sharni is the youth worker for West Tamar Council who can handle extreme amounts of excitement and energy in the calmest and coolest way. Blended with Hannah's capacity to  nurture the girls unique personalities and aspirations, the Beacy Free2b group is a space where anything  and everything can happen!

Freya and Chloe - St Marys

Established in July 2019 the adventurous St Marys Free2b group travels each week to alternate venues to ensure girls from all areas can attend.

Chloe and Freya are the local facilitators whose inclusive, caring approach helps the girls navigate their differences so they can become like one big family.

Freya's calm, trusting nature enables the girls to have confidence in what they do and who they are.

Chloe's capacity to communicate honestly and openly with the girls inspires a level of comfort for everyone to do the same.
.

Supported by the Fingal Valley Neighbourhood House, girls take the school bus to get to their venue, cook up amazing food each week, help with the shopping, come up with great craft ideas including designing new fashion out of old op shop clothes, and recently hosted their first Trivia Fundraising night in October.

Free2b Groups always need more volunteers, so please contact Tani if you'd like to help out.
