St Helens vs St Marys Battle of the Towns Trivia Night Sat October 26th 6pm -St Marys Hall A trivia battle between the 2 East Coast towns. Same Questions, same time, different locations. Funds from the St Marys event went to St Marys Free2b Girls. The girls from St Marys Free2b helped to organise the event and around $1000 was raised to help them go on excursions, add to their craft supply and eventually buy a "Free2b' bus! Thank you for all raffle prize donations, $20 voucher donations for the wining table and all the willing and wonderful people who donated and helped us make food for 80 people! Thanks to every one who bought tickets and came along with their superior intelligence to win the first Battle of the Towns Trophy. It sits in the St Marys Post Office waiting to be re - claimed again next year! |
“It is fantastic that the girls involved in the Free2b Group are showing signs of wanting to be part of the broader community and begin developing positive experiences in the wider world. Whilst some young people are able to make this transition with minimal support, others require extra support and nurturing to build the confidence and skills to do so. The potential power of Free2b to bridge the gap between the wider community and young people cannot be underestimated. “
